Wax Snaps Sets
These encaustics are molded in a similar way to "snap apart" chocolate bars- but do not eat them! The three sections are molded with a "snap" line so that you can easily break them apart to use as much or as little paint as you want. These are a convenient way to mix paint colors by melting individual squares together in an aluminum tin, right on your hot pancake griddle- or use the corner of the bars to create lines in monoprints. The wide edge of the bars can be used to make broad strokes of color, or to melt sections of paint on your hot palette for your own custom blends. Wax Snaps are professionally milled paints, made in the USA. Highly
pigmented, using the finest lightfast pigments blended with US
Pharmaceutical Grade beeswax and damar resin. Use full strength or
dilute with wax medium to create glazes or to extend your own paints.
