Chops (Stamps) and Stamp Inks
Chops are stone (typically limestone) stamps that many Asian artists use
to stamp their signatures onto prints, calligraphy, and paintings. Most
of these chops have blank bottoms so that you can carve your own stamp
or symbol to use to mark your artwork. The inks for these chops are
viscous, oil based inks that come in porcelain dishes. (The oily nature
of these inks makes them unsuitable for use with most rubber stamps.) We
have several chops and inks to choose from! The chops seen here are all
hand made and hand carved by Chinese artisans.
