This is one of our most popular colored papers; the sheets are very colorful and decorative yet conservative in their simplicity. The lokta bush is found throughout the Eastern and Western foothills of Nepal, at altitudes of 6500 to 9500 feet. The bush is a renewable resource with the ability to regenerate within six years. The inner bark of the lokta bush is harvested to produce lokta paper, handmade using age-old papermaking traditions passed down from generation to generation. In addition to being ecologically friendly, lokta paper is prized for durability and strength. Completely handmade from creating the sheets to coloring each individual paper by hand. Each sheet is left to dry in the sun and has four natural deckle edges. Sheets measure approximately 20x28".
Please note that these sheets have a weight of approximately 60gsm, but due to their handmade nature, they may be a bit thinner or thicker!
