"Supergranulating Colours“
Schmincke has now
succeeded in formulating two further special editions in which
supergranulating effects can be achieved in additional colour ranges.
The new series „Tundra“ and „Forest“ each contain 5 colours in 15 ml tubes and complement the three previous series „Deep
Sea“, „Glacier“ and „Galaxy“ in the most beautiful way.
The
colours of the „Forest“ series are suitable for painting all kinds of
forest in a wide range of shades of granulating green. With the
series „Tundra“, Nordic, harsh landscapes can be captured just as
beautifully as exotic travel impressions of rather dry regions. Both
series complement the existing 15 HORADAM® supergranulating colors to the finest and together form a range with inexhaustible
potential.
What is granulating?
Granulation is the property of pigments to agglomerate on the paper. The combination of at least 2 granulating HORADAM®
pigments enhances this effect to „supergranulation“. In the case of pigments from different colour ranges, the colour interactions are
further intensified.
For example, the colour „Tundra Violet“ (14 983) is a combination of brown and blue pigment, while „Forest Grey“ (14 945) con-
tains a black, a brown and a green pigment.
Please note! This novel, natural structure formation of the colours varies depending on the substrate and the amount of water used.
The rougher a paper is, the stronger the granulation effect.
