Quick-drying (drying in 24-30 hours), foundation colors should be applied in rough but thin layers to prevent adhesion problems in the finished painting. To obtain the best results, foundation colors should be mixed with turpentine using a palette knife to achieve a consistency similar to that of mayonnaise.
