Is it Time for New Palette Knives?
Palette knives are very helpful tools to have when it comes to painting. The creative possibilities are endless when you consider all the different shapes and sizes available. We find that many customers walk in through our doors looking for a new palette knife or even asking for a set and we are always thrilled to point them into the direction of our palette knife collection. We actually carry a wide assortment of sizes, shapes, and popular brands when it comes to these unique tools so if you’re in the market, be sure to check them out!
One of our more popular brands has to be the Liquitex line. The Liquitex blades are rust-proof steel and attach to the handle with solid rivets. The handles are wood with ergonomic design for comfort. Solid and sturdy, these palette knives are still light weight and comfortable to use. Artists will find them ideal for all oil and acrylic paintings. There are actually two different series of Liquitex palette knives to choose from: the Large Knives and the Small Traditional Knives.
We also carry Giant Palette Knives by Jack Richeson Co. that really are gigantic in order to appeal to artists that work on large pieces. They are however, still crafted to be light and flexible despite their size. We definitely recommend you view the product image for this line just to see how large the actual knives are in comparison to the canvas!
RGM Stainless Steel Italian Palette Knives are also quite popular. They feature a large selection of colorful rubber grip handle knives that sport flexible blades. These could actually be works of art in themselves.
Finally, with these hard economic times it is also important to mention the more economical option: Artworks Plastic Palette Knives Set. You can get a set of 6 sturdy plastic knives for a very low price. These are ideal for someone who is just beginning to paint and they include very popular knife shapes.
