“If The Egyptians Could Do It, Why Can’t We?”

David raises the question, “If the Egyptians could do it, why can’t we?” While many encaustic painters often choose to do abstract works of art, David Hoffend, shows in our latest Youtube video that it is also possible to utilize encaustic hot tools to create exquisite detail and eye-catching texture! 

David, a self-proclaimed “detailed artist”, illustrates how easy it is to use encaustic hot pen points to capture the finest details in an encaustic painting.  He even offers to demonstrate on a portrait he is currently working on in this short 10 minute clip.

This is a fascinating video that really shows the audience the advantages of using a hot pen point and at the same time, shows the potential of encaustic wax paints.  It is a must-watch for all encaustic painters!
